Pam's Piano Studio

I love to teach!!  I love to see and hear the progress that each and every student achieves throughout the year!

I offer 2 main types of classes - Private Piano Lessons and Music Pups Classes from The Music Class.

Piano lessons were the first area that I taught.  I began teaching when I was in high school and a neighbour asked me to teach their daughter.  I continued to teach more students as I finished high school, then went to Red Deer College in a Music Diploma Program.  I transferred to The University of Calgary in a Piano Performance Degree.  After 1 year, I realized that performance was not what I really wanted to do for a career.  I took a year off from school, taught lessons through a studio in Edmonton, worked at Oliver's Music (a music book store) and took further lessons myself.  I realized that teaching was what I wanted the most, as well as doing some performing.  I then went to The University of Lethbridge where I completed my Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Bachelor of Education Degrees.

I have taught in the schools  - Band, Elementary Music, other Elementary classes, Kindergarten - both as a contracted teacher and as a substitute.  I decided that my real love came from teaching small groups or private lessons - so I began teaching out of my own studio.

I have been teaching privately in Lloydminster for over 15 years and have found a real passion for teaching!  I work with each student on their own level and aim to have each one achieve success for themselves, whether that is to play a favorite piece or to win awards for having top marks in the province on their exams and at festivals!

Music Pups by The Music Class - started when I had my son.  A friend was teaching it and I registered to take the class.  After 2 years, she decided she was going back to school and offered the program to me.  I took the training and have been teaching it for 10 years now!  Each year, I have seen my numbers grow and am thrilled with how many young families enjoy the class with me!  It is so heart warming to see the kids learning about music - singing, dancing and playing the rhythm instruments - the squeals of excitement when their favorite activity is started makes me smile!
